Walk a 1,000 Miles in their Shoes!


Found this great blog about an Englishman (Benjamin Dawes) walking the Baja peninsula from Los Cabos to Tijuana and thought I'd give him some support by spreading the word to our readers. Hopefully you will enjoy the blog (adventure) as much as I am amd donate to some of the charities.


Here's some information from his site: In April 2010 I am setting out to walk 1000 miles from Los Cabos to Tijuana up the Baja Peninsula in Mexico. I’m walking this epic journey of physical punishment not only as a phyical challenge but also to raise money for three fantastic causes, GART, Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital and Los Cabos Children's Foundation.

Visit Mexicali's La Chinesca

A group called La Chinesca is preserving the Chinese area of Mexicali and the traditions of those immigrants who came from China. The Chinese traveled to the hot, barren deserts of Mexicali, Baja California's capital, around 1900 to work on the railroads and irrigation canals being built on both sides of the border. After the construction was completed, many stayed and became merchants who opened up bars, restaurants, shops in the area now called La Chinesca next to the US/Mexico border.
