New Bar/Restaurant/Store in La Paz

Image
Ever positive Jonathan Roldan of fishing fame in and around La Paz has opened up a new cantina/restaurant in La Paz located near the famous, but closed Los Arcos Hotel. Jonathan, an all-around good guy, brings his professionalism and good time approach to a new business full of cold ones and freshly caught fish dinners. The establishment called FUBAR Cantina and Tailhunter Store has been open for 3 months and includes 2 bars and 2 restaurants, fire pit, hammocks, offices, and internet cafe, a mini-super market, storage area and fish processiong area. He also says they have the first keg beer taps with cold mugs down in La Paz. When you get down to La Paz, tell him Ted from BajaVisitor sent you down for a couple cervezas!

The Mexican 1000 is back!

NORRA (National Off Road Racing Association) has brought back the original Baja offroad race, The Mexican 1000. The first Mexican 1000 was held in 1967 and began in Tijuana, ending in La Paz. That's James Garner below. This year's event will race from Mexicali to LA Bay to Loreto to La Paz. The race only includes cars between 1955-1989. The race is more of a off and on road "rally" showcasing the original feeling of old time Baja racing. More info see www.mexican1000.com .
