The Mexican 1000 is back!

NORRA (National Off Road Racing Association) has brought back the original Baja offroad race, The Mexican 1000. The first Mexican 1000 was held in 1967 and began in Tijuana, ending in La Paz. That's James Garner below.

This year's event will race from Mexicali to LA Bay to Loreto to La Paz. The race only includes cars between 1955-1989. The race is more of a off and on road "rally" showcasing the original feeling of old time Baja racing. More info see www.mexican1000.com.

Incredible! I love the history of the Baja as my father drove in this races. Wish I could make it down to the finish line!
